Lori Hepner, assistant professor of integrative arts at Penn State Greater Allegheny, recently received an award as an emerging photographer from the Magenta Foundation as a part of Flash Forward 12. Thirty five emerging photographers from each of Canada, the UK, and the US have been awarded the designation by the Magenta Foundation. Hepner's work from Status Symbols: Twitter Portraits will be featured within the upcoming publication. Magenta is a charitable arts publishing house based in Canada that supports collaborative efforts with Canadian and international artists. It provides a vehicle for galleries to join forces and promote the work of Canadian artists internationally through the publication of books and exhibitions. Flash Forward 12 exhibitions and book launches will be held in both Toronto and London in November 2012.
Hepner's work has been profiled in Time Magazine.
