Award-winning author, illustrator duo to speak at Harrisburg April 24

Penn State Harrisburg will host illustrator Brian Pinkney and writer/editor Andrea Davis Pinkney, at 11:50 a.m. on April 24, in the Library's Morrison Gallery. The event is free and open to the public.

Significant contributors to the field of children’s literature, the pair will speak about their creative process and also will sign autographs.

Andrea Davis Pinkney creates books for children and young adults showing pride in African-American culture and achievements. Her husband, Brian Pinkney, illustrates children’s picture books. Having published more than 50 children’s books combined, the couple was recently named among the “25 Most Influential People in Our Children’s Lives” by Children’s Health magazine. Together, their books have been named New York Times best-sellers, and have received multiple Caldecott honors, Coretta Scott King honors, Parenting Publications Gold Medals and the Jane Addams Book Award, among others.
