Harrisburg baseball earns at-large bid to NCAA Tournament

Penn State Harrisburg was chosen as a regional host site, with competition set to begin May 17

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg has been selected to the 2024 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship Tournament beginning this weekend. Penn State Harrisburg earned one of 19 at-large bids and was chosen as a regional host site, with competition set to begin Friday, May 17.

Penn State Harrisburg is set to host a four-team, double-elimination regional this weekend, with the Lions playing Bridgewater State in the opening contest. 

Penn State Harrisburg and Bridgewater State will play on May 17 at 10 a.m., with Randolph-Macon and Elizabethtown to follow at 1:30 p.m. Saturday's schedule includes three games tentatively scheduled for 8:30 a.m., noon and 3:30 p.m.. A regional champion will be crowned on Sunday, with the sixth game of the weekend beginning at 11 a.m. and another game to follow if needed.

This season, the Lions matched the single-season program record for wins, captured the United East Volt Division Championship, and finished as the United East runner-up. Penn State Harrisburg is making its fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth appearance overall. The program is serving as a regional round host for the second consecutive year.
