Harrisburg men’s, women’s tennis teams earn United East Championship titles

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg’s men’s and women’s tennis teams will advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament after clinching United East Championship titles over the weekend.

The men’s team won over top-seeded St. Mary’s to win the 2024 United East Championship and earn the program’s second trip to the NCAA Tournament. It is the third conference title in program history, and Penn State Harrisburg will compete in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the spring of 2012.

The team will play Mary Washington in the opening round of the tournament. First round action is set to begin on Friday, May 10. 

The women’s tennis team has also secured the 2024 United East Championship. Due to a forfeit by Cairn, the Lions earned the third conference title in program history and will compete in the upcoming NCAA Tournament for the second time.

The women’s team will take on Transylvania in the NCAA Tournament. First round action is set to begin Thursday, May 9.
