MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg students were inducted into three honor societies during the School of Business Administration’s first combined induction ceremony, recognizing exceptional student achievement.
Students were inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, Upsilon Pi Epsilon and Mu Kappa Tau during the April 2 ceremony. Two faculty members were also inducted.
Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society for students in accredited business programs, inducted 19 students and one faculty member. Raymond Gibney, professor of human capital management, received the Beta Gamma Sigma Professor of the Year Award. Faculty adviser is Ozge Aybat, associate professor of marketing.
In partnership with the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology, five students and one faculty member were inducted into Upsilon Pi Epsilon, an international honor society for computing and information disciplines. Faculty advisers are Jesse Middaugh, assistant teaching professor of information sciences and technology, and David Kitlan, associate teaching professor of information sciences and technology.
Seven students were inducted into Mu Kappa Tau, a national honor society for marketing scholars. The faculty adviser is Siddarth Bhatt, associate professor of marketing.
The ceremony featured guest speaker Brian Bucciarelli, a retired marketing executive at Hershey Entertainment, who shared insights on leadership, ethics and professional growth.
