MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg will host a panel discussion titled “Geopolitical Earthquake: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine” from noon to 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in Room W107 Olmsted Building on campus. The event is hosted by the college’s School of Behavioral Sciences and Education and the Student Services Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Office.
On Feb. 24, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This is the first major war on European soil in decades. A panel of faculty experts will discuss this invasion and how it affects the geopolitical landscape. A Q&A session will follow the discussion.
Hannah Spector, associate professor of education in the School of Behavioral Sciences and Education, will chair the discussion, with Marvin Overby, director of the School of Public Affairs, serving as the discussant. Panelists include:
- Carol Nechemias, associate professor emerita of public policy and political science in the School of Public Affairs
- Juliette Tolay, associate professor of political science in the School of Public Affairs
- Michael Stefany, associate teaching professor of history and humanities in the School of Humanities
The event is open to Penn State Harrisburg faculty, students and staff.
