UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Teams from universities across the nation are invited to compete in the fifth annual Penn State Health Administration Virtual Case Competition, which will take place Oct. 23-26. The annual competition is hosted by the Penn State Department of Health Policy and Administration.
The Penn State Health Administration Virtual Case Competition is designed to help students develop public speaking skills, gain experience working in teams, practice problem-solving, engage in strategic thinking, demonstrate professionalism, build networks and gain leadership experience. The event provides a cost-effective opportunity for students to participate in industry challenges and allows them to apply classroom learning to a real-world case.
Students from programs in health administration, health policy, public health or related fields are eligible to participate and will compete with teams from top health-related programs around the country for prizes. Registration is limited to two teams per school, and the deadline to register is Oct. 2.
There are three categories for this year’s competition:
- Undergraduate
- Residential Master of Health Administration programs
- Online Master of Health Administration programs
Space is limited to 20 teams per category with three to four students per team. Prizes of up to $2,000 will be awarded to first, second and third place in each category.
This year’s case competition is sponsored by Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, who will use proposed solutions to improve their service to communities around the commonwealth.
