UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The fifth annual College of Health and Human Development (HHD) Affiliate Program Group (APG) Golf Challenge is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8, on the Blue Course at the Penn State Golf Courses in State College.

Alumni and friends are invited to support students by registering a team to play, serving as an event sponsor, or donating a silent auction prize.

Proceeds from the HHD APG Golf Challenge support engaged learning and professional development activities for undergraduate students, including participation in internships and attendance at industry conferences and networking events.

The organizing committee is pleased to announce that Steven Wagman will be the host chairperson for this annual golf outing. Wagman graduated from Penn State in 1982 with a degree in Health Policy and Administration (HPA). He is currently a member of the Penn State Board of Trustees and was the Penn State Alumni Association’s 80th president in 2017. Wagman previously served as president of the HPA Affiliate Program Group and was a member of the HHD Alumni Society Board. A healthcare industry executive for more than 40 years, Wagman is the National Healthcare Business Leader for Siemens Industry’s Smart Infrastructure Division.

In 2021, the tournament raised more than $10,000 to support programming for undergraduate students in the College of Health and Human Development. The committee’s goal is to exceed this amount in 2022.
