Sending a 'We Are!' to these Penn Staters

As part of our regular "We Are!" feature, we recognize seven Penn Staters who have gone above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form.

This week, we'd like say thank you on behalf of the entire University community to:

Susan Sanders, of the College of Health and Human Development, whose nominator wrote: "As the lead adviser within the College of Health and Human Development in the Center for Student Advising and Engagement, Susan has revitalized advising for first-year students. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm for student development is inspiring to other advisers in the college."

Cheryl McCloskey, of University Health Services, whose nominator wrote: "Cheryl and the immunization compliance team have worked countless hours and assisted students with their immunization compliance. The small team has conquered the thousands of forms, calls and more, and they have been such team players! Kudos to the IC team and thank you for all of your hard work and dedication!"

Mary Dubbink, of Penn State New Kensington, whose nominator wrote: "Mary Dubbink, the registrar at Penn State New Kensington, is a great asset, and she is always there to provide support and answer questions. This past week a student wanted to change their semester start from spring to fall; Mary provided VIP service to this student as she does for all students."

Marcia Delia, of Penn State Abington, whose nominator wrote: "Marcia Delia is the consummate professional and is always going out of her way for her co-workers. She truly epitomizes the Penn State values of integrity, respect, responsibility, discovery, excellence and community. More importantly, she loves Penn State students and is truly here to be of service to them."

Rebecca Schultz, of the Social Science Research Institute, whose nominator wrote: "Rebecca is responsible for a multitude of administrative tasks. She handles each task and challenge with great skill, professionalism and a smile! She is always 10 steps ahead! Rebecca is an important contributor to the success of our institute and Penn State."

David Pack, of University Police, whose nominator wrote: "Officer Pack is always a joy to see around campus. He always goes around and asks how everyone's day is going, while keeping our students, faculty and staff safe."

Tracey Accordino, of the Office for Research Protections, whose nominator wrote: "Tracey always goes above and beyond for her fellow co-workers and anyone else our office interacts with. I know I can go to Tracey with any question or problem and she won't give up until she has found a solution. She is totally selfless and the glue that holds our office together. Thank you, Tracey!"

Thank you to Susan, Cheryl, Mary, Marcia, Rebecca, David and Tracey — and to everyone who helps make Penn State such an incredible community. We Are!
