HERSHEY, Pa. — The 40th annual Children’s Miracle Network Hershey (CMN) Telethon raised $361,528.43 to benefit equipment, programs and research at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. The event aired June 3-6 on WGAL8.
“We want to share our story and make sure people know that Children’s Miracle Network is right here in their community,” said Lyndsay Morgan, whose 7-year-old daughter Harper was featured in the broadcast. “It’s about helping the children in your local elementary schools and even in your own neighborhood. Donations are invaluable for giving children and families the services they need.”
The funds raised from this year’s telethon will support family-centered programs, lifesaving equipment and transformative research for pediatric patients like Harper.
“Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital quickly connected us with the Child Life Program. Their services helped normalize Harper’s experience through toys, activities and everything she needed to feel like a normal kid,” Morgan said. “To everyone connected to us through CMN, thank you.”
Gifts to the telethon were raised through a pre-event mailing, online donations and support from sponsors, including Johnson Controls, The Hershey Co., Highmark Blue Shield, Vizo Financial Corporate Credit Union, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Donegal Insurance Group, Woodstream Corp., McClure Company, Enders, Universal Media, Shollenberger, Januzzi & Wolfe, LLP, PSECU, and Member’s 1st Federal Credit Union.
“As we celebrate our 40th anniversary of telethon, we want to thank our sponsors, the community and our partners at WGAL8 for making this milestone possible. Your support showcases our region’s unwavering commitment to children’s health,” said Katie Anderson, director of CMN Hershey. “It is an incredible achievement, and together, we’re giving kids the gift of growing up.”
