ALS Association honors Dr. Zachary Simmons

HERSHEY, Pa. — Dr. Zachary Simmons, a neurologist at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, received a research and innovation award for his work with ALS patients at the ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter 40th Anniversary Gala on Nov. 9.

Simmons, a Flame of Hope honoree at the gala, and his team at Penn State ALS Clinic and Research Center, explore promising new frontiers such as telemedicine and brain-computer interface, and delve into how new treatments and mindfulness can help improve quality of life for people with ALS.
