Dance for Parkinson’s sessions to begin March 14

Beginning Friday, March 14, Center Stage, an initiative of Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine, and Lancaster-based Cobalt Dance Company will partner to offer a seven-week dance class for people with Parkinson's disease and their companions.

This class, an affiliate of Dance for PD in Brooklyn, New York, is taught by specialized dance instructors and accompanied by live Center Stage musicians. The class is designed to empower people with Parkinson's to explore movement and music in ways that are stimulating and creative.

People with Parkinson's of all ages and ability levels are welcome to participate with or without a companion. No prior dance experience is needed. The sessions are offered on Fridays, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Penn State Hershey University Fitness Center.

To register, call Cobalt Dance at 717-676-9039. All classes are free; suggested donations of $10 per class are gratefully accepted.
