Two Penn State Health physicians are recognized on the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s 2025 Top Physicians Under 40 list.
Sean Mahase, a radiation oncologist, and Alireza Mansouri, a neurosurgeon — both from Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center — were nominated by fellow physicians and selected by a committee of Pennsylvania Medical Society members.
According to the society, Mahase’s nominator highlighted his “innovations in education, clinical care and research,” noting that his work has “elevated standards within his department and across central Pennsylvania.”
“Radiation oncology offers a personally ideal balance of direct and longitudinal patient care, multidisciplinary collaboration, innovative technology providing precise treatments with sub-centimeter accuracy and seemingly unlimited research opportunities,” Mahase said.
Mansouri’s nominator praised him for “transforming brain tumor care through pioneering clinical work, liquid biopsy research and interdisciplinary collaboration,” according to the society.
Mansouri said his commitment to mentoring the next generation of physicians fuels his drive for innovation and lifelong learning.
“By sharing my expertise and experience, I aim to inspire others to push the boundaries of what is possible in the treatment of brain tumors,” he said.
