HERSHEY, Pa. — Penn State Hershey Medical Center has been named a member of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation’s PFF Care Center Network. As part of the network, the Medical Center’s pulmonary fibrosis care team will have access to a wealth of resources for both patients and caregivers. Penn State Hershey will also collaborate with 39 other sites making up the network across the country to advance the care of people living with pulmonary fibrosis.
With no known cure, pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive group of lung disorders that cause scarring in the lungs and are often difficult to diagnose and manage, with survival rates of less than five years following diagnosis.
Launched in 2013 by the PFF, the PFF Care Center Network is a growing group of medical centers that have proven experience and expertise in the care of patients with fibrotic lung disease. Learn more about the network here.
