Thomas Stoessel has joined Penn State Health as chief network development officer. Stoessel has served as senior vice president for strategy and business development at PinnacleHealth System for the last three years. In addition to having served a key role in the negotiations and planning for the strategic combination of the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and PinnacleHealth, his focus has been on the regional growth and development of PinnacleHealth.
By joining Penn State Health, Stoessel will advance important strategic initiatives that will benefit Penn State Health in the long term. This transition is a visible symbol of the commitment to and confidence in the planned new health enterprise by both Penn State Health and PinnacleHealth. His familiarity with the central Pennsylvania health care market and his experience in strategic planning and business development make him well-suited for this new role.
Prior to joining PinnacleHealth, Stoessel was the senior vice president and chief strategy officer for Mount Nittany Health System in State College. He also has extensive background in marketing communications, business development and strategic planning through his work with a number of strategic communications firms. He has a BA in communications and a master’s in business administration, both from Penn State.
