UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — With the end of the semester and summer break approaching, Penn State Human Resources is reminding Penn State employees, retirees, students and alumni that they are eligible for discounts at various local businesses, including rental cars, airlines, hotels and amusement parks.
The Penn State Discounts program is a collaborative effort between Penn State and local businesses, with the primary goal of providing an extra benefit for those affiliated with Penn State while also supporting the economy.
"We're so happy to team up with these businesses to help Penn Staters save money on goods and services," said Jennifer Wilkes, vice president for Human Resources and chief human resources officers. "We appreciate the support these businesses are offering to our employees, students and alumni."
A number of new local, regional and national vendors were recently added to the program, including Travelers home and auto insurance, Price4Limo transportation services, StubZero ticket hub, Crunch Fitness, Vibe Coffee Co., the Inn at Westwynd Farm, Cocoa Diner and FX Photo Booths. There are more than 100 participating businesses — including e-commerce vendors — spanning industries such as insurance, transportation, health and beauty, sports, entertainment, financial and real estate, communications and automotive.
Discounts for employees, retirees, students and alumni may vary, depending on the business. All participating businesses and the discounts they offer can be found on the Discounts page on the Human Resources website. Several retailers, museums and other services also offer general discounts to college students and University employees.
There is no cost to businesses for participating in Penn State’s discount program. Vendors interested in promoting their business through this program can submit this form, and a representative will follow up with additional details. Submitting a request form does not guarantee inclusion in the discounts program.
While the University has made an effort to check each offering, it is the responsibility of the consumer to carefully check the goods and services offered. Penn State does not warrant or endorse goods or services provided by any business participating in the Employee Discounts Program.
