As the end of 2021 draws closer, the Penn State Payroll Office is encouraging faculty, staff and students to begin preparing for tax season.
Each year, over 55,000 electronic W-2s are uploaded into Workday. By delivering these W-2s electronically, the University advances its sustainability goals that are a key component of the Penn State’s Strategic Plan. Additionally, these electronic W-2s secure each employee's personal information, reduce the risk of a paper W-2 being lost in the mail and will be available to employees as soon as they are posted — several days earlier than receiving a mailed copy.
For those who haven’t already done so, the Payroll Office recommends all employees opt out of a paper copy of their W-2 in Workday by Wednesday, Dec. 22.
