TIAA to limit account usage in March during routine maintenance

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State staff and faculty enrolled in a TIAA supplemental retirement program will be unable to change their contributions or enroll in new programs during a routine maintenance period from March 11 to 17.

During this “quiet period,” users already enrolled in plans will be able to access their account, request fund transfers, update beneficiary information or review investment performance. The quiet period will only remove the ability to make contribution changes and enroll in a new supplemental account during the week of maintenance.

No action is required from TIAA account holders prior to the maintenance. For those wishing to make changes to contributions, the final day to do so will be March 10. Regular service will resume March 18.

Additional information on supplemental retirement plan options are available through Penn State Human Resources on the Employee Benefits Supplemental Retirement website.

Anyone in need of support or consultation with TIAA can schedule a free session with a TIAA financial consultant by calling 800-732-8353 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
