2019 City Lights series dates and locations announced

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The 2019 City Lights series is beginning to take shape. 

The City Lights series features provocative topics designed to engage Penn Staters with expert faculty and extraordinary alumni while providing a chance to socialize with others who bleed blue and white.

Experience Penn State through inspiring performances, engaging cultural events, and enlightening educational programs hosted in metro areas where many Penn Staters live and work. 

Dates and locations for this year’s four events are as follows: 

  • Tuesday, March 26 — Philadelphia at National Liberty Museum
  • Tuesday, April 2 — Pittsburgh at PNC Park
  • Tuesday, April 23 — New York City at the Stonewall Inn
  • Tuesday, May 21 — Washington, D.C. at the Howard Theatre 

This year’s series spotlights one of President Eric Barron’s six imperatives: Fostering and Embracing a Diverse World. Each event will showcase a different diversity topic. Topics and speakers for each event are still to be finalized. 

Doors open at 6 p.m., followed by a set program from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., concluding with a reception from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.
