UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Commission for Women will hold its 10th annual awards luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. (lunch buffet opens at 11:30 a.m.) on Friday, April 8, in the Presidents Hall at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel to honor this year's Rosemary Schraer Mentoring and Achieving Women Awards recipients.

Tickets are available until Friday, March 18, at http://equity.psu.edu/cfw. The cost is $22 per person and $220 for a reserved table of 10 seats. An email confirmation will be sent once registration is complete. Sandy Barbour, Penn State's director of athletics, will be the featured speaker at this year's luncheon.

Looking ahead to the 2017 luncheon, a minimal $3 increase in ticket prices is expected due to inflation. The Commission for Women is providing this information in advance to allow University departments to plan accordingly for table reservations.

The Rosemary Schraer Mentoring Award is presented each spring to a University employee who exemplifies Schraer's giving of herself as a mentor and who has voluntarily, over a period of time, helped others recognize and achieve their potential. Consideration is given to any employee (administrator, faculty, technical service, or staff member) who has a record of outstanding mentoring service that goes beyond the requirements of his/her employment duties and responsibilities.

The Achieving Women Award recognizes seven Penn State women who have shown notable leadership and accomplishment in their fields, and who have gone beyond the requirements of employment duties and responsibilities in their support of the University’s diversity efforts, promotion of equal opportunity, or contribution to human causes and public service activities. These awards are presented to current employees and students of Penn State from each of the following categories: faculty, staff exempt, staff nonexempt, administrator, technical service, and undergraduate and graduate students (including postdoctoral fellows and scholars).

To submit nominations, visit equity.psu.edu/cfw/awards. Submissions are due no later than Wednesday, Feb. 10.
