UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Small businesses will have a one-on-one opportunity to present financing needs to funding professionals at no cost during the Penn State Small Business Development Center Lenders Expo. The expo will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, at Mountain View Country Club in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania.
Businesses are required to register in advance. Each registrant will be assigned time to pitch their business and financial goals to each lender. Kimberlee MacMullan, director for the Penn State SBDC, said each 10-minute period will provide entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to discuss their funding needs and set-up a more detailed meeting with a potential lending match in the future.
“We are excited to introduce a speed-match format this year to put business owners in front of a variety of lending options, all on the same day. So far, response from banks has been wonderful and includes those specializing in SBA-7 funding, micro-loans under $50,000 and other financial institutions eager to connect with small businesses in central Pennsylvania,” MacMullan said. “Other resources available at the expo to assist with proper preparation of business plans, execution strategy and sound financial statements include representatives from the Penn State SBDC, SCORE, SEDA-COG and Happy Valley Launchbox.”
Entrepreneurs who want advice about pitching their business to lenders are invited to contact the Penn State SBDC to set up an appointment to meet with a business consultant before the expo.
To attend the Penn State SBDC Lenders Expo, business owners can register online at no cost.
