Global Programs and Career Services are joining forces to host a conference by the Penn State Global Careers Institute - a professional development program designed to help students prepare for the future.

“A goal of Penn State’s Global Careers Institute is to provide a dynamic professional development opportunity for international and domestic students to help prepare them for success in the global marketplace after graduation," said Jennifer Theiss, senior assistant director for special initiatives in Global Programs. "By including Penn State alumni as conference presenters, students will have the opportunity to learn directly from industry experts with diverse experiences and academic disciplines."

The institute's conference will be held on Feb. 28 and 29, 2020, at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center at University Park campus. Featured speakers will include Penn State alumni from a wide range of business and industry around the world. Students will have the opportunity to network with alumni and speakers throughout the weekend event.

“Career Services is excited to partner with Global Programs to contribute to one of the foundations of the University’s strategic plan—Enhancing Global Engagement. By leveraging alumni, university partners, and international experts, this program will prepare Penn State students to navigate the unique demands of launching an international career," said Bob Orndorff, senior director of career services.

Participation in the institute is competitive and by application only. There is a registration fee of $20. Overnight lodging will be provided at the Penn Stater for students from Penn State's Commonwealth Campuses.
