UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Anna Griswold was recently honored by a national organization with a meritorious achievement award for her contributions to the field of student aid.
The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators announced on June 27 that Griswold would be one of three recipients of their Meritorious Achievement Award in honor of her work in the field.
The NASFAA is a nonprofit membership organization based in Washington, D.C. It represents more than 20,000 financial aid professionals from colleges and universities across the U.S. and focuses on student aid legislation, regulatory analysis and training for administrators.
Griswold retired from Penn State in March after serving the University for 27 years as assistant vice president of Undergraduate Education and executive director of the Office of Student Aid. In addition to overseeing the administration of more than $1 billion in student aid, the role required her to be an outward-facing voice for the Office of Student Aid to state and federal legislators, an advocate for the University, and a champion for affordability and student aid initiatives.
During her 48-year career she was a leader in the field of student aid, serving on industry boards and remaining active in professional organizations.
