UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Center for Hospitality Real Estate Strategy and the School of Hospitality Management are the presenting sponsors of the 2015 Bisnow Lodging Investment & Innovation Series (BLIS) presented Monday, Oct. 19 by Bisnow Media at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C.
BLIS is owner and investor-focused with a strong emphasis on real estate and finance.
At the day-long networking event, Bill Marriott, executive director of Marriott International, will be interviewed by his daughter, Debbie Marriott Harrison, global officer with Culture and Business Councils at Marriott International.
Steve Joyce, president and CEO of Choice Hotels International, will be a keynote speaker. Sheila Johnson, co-founder of Black Entertainment Television, chair of Monumental Sports and Entertainment, and CEO of Salamander Hotels and Resorts, is the BLIS 2015 Chair. Lodging and real estate executives will also provide insights to more than 500 attendees.
The perfect location for the top hotel conference is Washington, D.C., as it is the top hotel industry city, now home to more hotel brands, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and owners, and management companies than any other city in America, according to John O'Neill, professor of hospitality management and director of the Center for Hospitality Real Estate Strategy.
“Since its inception, the Penn State School of Hospitality Management has been supportive of BLIS, whose three previous annual conferences have steadily grown in attendance each year and featured as keynoters the CEOs of Marriott, Hilton and MGM International, and executives from all of the major hotel owners and operators,” O'Neill said. “The content and collegiality of this conference continues to grow, and we are happy to be part of it.”
