STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The sixth annual Living in One Neighborhood (LION) Walk will be held from 5:15 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in State College.
Sponsored by State College Borough, Penn State's Division of Student Affairs and the Off-Campus Student Union, the LION Walk is designed to foster neighborliness, responsibility and respect among residents and students. University and borough officials will be visiting several neighborhoods and handing out information packets that include tips on personal safety; pointers on how to be a good neighbor and on hosting safe parties; information on dangerous drinking; ordinance details regarding trash, noise, parking and recycling; and emergency contact information.
Last year's walk involved 150 volunteers, visiting more than 700 homes.
