MONT ALTO, Pa. ― The Mont Alto LaunchBox is offering free workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs on and off campus this spring. They are open to the public and free of charge. Participants are encouraged to register at montalto.psu.edu/launchbox/workshops.
On March 28, Cheryl Young, Shippensburg Small Business Development Center (SBDC) business consultant, will present “Putting together a business plan,” from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mont Alto LaunchBox, located at 40 N. Second St. in Chambersburg.
On April 3, from 12:20 to 1:10 p.m. in the Heritage Room of The Millstream Café on the Mont Alto Campus, three panelists will discuss “What it takes to be an entrepreneur.” Chancellor Francis K. Achampong will moderate panelists and Mont Alto LaunchBox Advisory Council members Kathyrn Gratton, SCORE certified small business mentor and Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro executive director; Kristen Laidig, author, entrepreneur and owner of InterACT LLC, parent company to Chambersburg’s Toy Box Gifts & Wonder and Nerdvana Outpost; and Mike Unruh, SBDC executive director. This event is offered in conjunction with Penn State Startup Week, a weeklong celebration of ingenuity and inspiration set for April 1-5.
On April 25, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mont Alto LaunchBox in Chambersburg, Kathryn Gratton will present “So you have an idea for a business, now what?” This workshop will help individuals who have an idea about a business to take the next steps.
The Mont Alto LaunchBox provides resources and support to entrepreneurs in a free co-working space to help early-stage and more advanced startups build a sustainable and scalable business and a viable plan for growth. It is open to the Penn State community and the general public.
LaunchBox is a signature program of Invent Penn State ― an initiative meant to spur economic development, job creation, and student career success.
