Nestlé head of marketing Tom Buday to speak at Smeal leadership lecture series

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Tom Buday, a 1980 Penn State marketing alumnus and senior vice president and head of marketing and consumer communication at Nestlé, will deliver a presentation titled “Timeless Fundamentals, New Realities” on Oct. 2 at the Penn State Smeal College of Business. His visit is part of the college’s Executive Insights speaker series.

Immediately following the presentation, Buday will take part in an audience question-and-answer session and moderated discussion hosted by Charles H. Whiteman, John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal. The event is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. in 110 Business Building, the Struthers Auditorium. Online registration is required at www.smeal.psu.edu/insights.

Buday joined the Nestlé Group in August 1983 as senior analyst of marketing research with Carnation Company in Los Angeles. The more than 140-year-old company sells more than 2,000 brands worldwide and has operations in more than 197 countries. Nestlé employs approximately 339,000 people worldwide.

Buday was named head of marketing and consumer communication in April 2008. Prior to that he was the European marketing director of Nestle Purina and vice president of marketing for the Friskies Petcare Division.
