ALTOONA, Pa. — The Penn State Altoona Alumni Society’s fourth annual Community for Kids (CFK) Golf Tournament, held Friday, June 29, raised nearly $22,000 to support the Center for Child Justice, Blair County’s children’s advocacy center; Penn State Altoona Intercollegiate Athletics; and the Alumni Society Scholarship Fund.

The 116 golfers took part in the tournament hosted at Sinking Valley Country Club in Altoona. Tournament participants, sponsors, alumni and community members attended the Tee It Up Reception the night before at the Blairmont Club in Hollidaysburg, which included special guests Paul J. Clifford, chief executive officer of the Penn State Alumni Association and associate vice president for alumni relations at Penn State, and Keith Urgo, Penn State men’s basketball associate head coach.

"The Community for Kids Golf Tournament committee is so thankful to the alumni, sponsors and community members who came out to support our three great causes," said Tom Koehle, tournament chair. "PSECU came on board in an impactful way to help enhance this year's event and to ensure the continued success of the CFK Tournament. Planning is already underway to make the fifth annual CFK Golf Tournament and Tee It Up Reception even more special. We are excited about what the future holds for this event and how it impacts Penn State Altoona students and children in Blair County."

To date, more than $62,000 has been raised by the tournament. To learn how to be a part of next year’s event, visit altoona.psu.edu/alumnigolf or contact Koehle at tjk181@gmail.com.
