As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, Penn State Berks will host Latin Fest, an annual celebration that allows students to learn more about the Latino culture and festivities while enjoying delicious food and a live performance. Latin Fest will take place beginning at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is open to Penn State Berks students, faculty and staff.

Along with a food tasting of some traditional Latino foods, Latin Fest will include a fashion show, showcasing clothing representative of several Latin American countries, and a presentation of “But We’re Still Here,” a community engagement production that explores the social justice issues of sexual assault and wage theft through dance and theater.

Students will also get the chance to share their knowledge of the Mexican holiday ‘Dia de los Muertos’ (Day of the Dead) in anticipation of the annual celebration on Nov. 2 at Penn State Berks.
