Penn State Berks students will spend time volunteering in the local community during the month of April.

On Tuesday, April 17, students prepared and served a five-star dinner at Opportunity House. The Hotel and Restaurant Society, a student organization, prepared a three-course meal and provide an evening to remember for Opportunity House clients. Students served as cooks, sous chefs, hosts, waiters and food runners.

Penn State Berks students will host a “Senior Prom” for the residents of Country Meadows on from 12–2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22. The event will include games and dancing.

On Wednesday, April 25, from 12:15–1:15 p.m., students will participate in the Stand for State Walk. Students will walk an outlined trail around campus to raise awareness about topics relating to Stand for State, Penn State's bystander intervention training. The event will also raise awareness of statistics relating to sexual assault, harassment, stalking and bias.

On Thursday, April 26, Campus Life, in collaboration with a number of student clubs and organizations, is planning a Day of Service, which will include a variety of volunteer activities to make a difference in the local Berks County community.
