Why state funding matters: Penn State shapes lives, keeps top talent in Pa.

With more than 380,000 alumni living in Pennsylvania, Penn State educates and trains the state’s workforce like no other entity in the commonwealth. “There’s a reason why half of Penn State alumni stay within Pennsylvania,” said 2022 alumna Erin Boas.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — With more than 380,000 alumni living in Pennsylvania, Penn State educates and trains the state’s workforce like no other entity in the commonwealth.

“There are so many different ways in which Penn State shapes and changes students' lives and alumni's lives,” said 2022 alumna Erin Boas, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, who is past president of the University Park Undergraduate Association and a graduate of the College of the Liberal Arts. “There’s a reason why half of Penn State alumni stay within Pennsylvania. They see the impact that Penn State has on the commonwealth and they see the opportunities to stay connected to the University.”
