UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — WPSU is hosting a webinar series aimed at providing educators with important resources for themselves and their students.
The WPSU webinars will be held Feb. 16, March 22 and April 12 through the Pennsylvania PBS Your Learning Neighborhood initiative. All three webinars are free, but registration is required. Act 48 credit is also available for participants.

The one-hour webinars are:
- A Conscious Education: Creating a Conscious Experience for Educators to Thrive with Jennifer Hepton (4 p.m. on Feb. 16)
- Hepton will share insights on how uncertainty and trauma can affect our nervous system and how this awareness will allow space for you to thrive as an educator.
- Create Classroom Community Through Song with "Small Island, Big Song," in partnership with the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State (4 p.m. on March 22)
- Explore how songs and chants can be integrated into your classroom to support your community of students. Educators who attend the webinar will receive a free ticket to "Small Island, Big Song" and access to the documentary for classroom use.
- Using Media to Propel Inquiry-Based, Trauma-Informed Learning with Brooklyn Leonhardt and Lori McGarry of the Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Education Initiative at Penn State (4 p.m. on April 12)
- Learn how to develop strategies with care through an inquiry-based, trauma-informed approach to using media when teaching about difficult topics.
WPSU and the six other PBS stations across Pennsylvania have collaborated with the Pennsylvania Department of Education to create Your Learning Neighborhood, connecting Pennsylvanians with thousands of hours of education and entertaining videos, activities, lessons and games. WPSU is a Penn State Outreach service.
