UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — WPSU Penn State’s annual open house will have a new look as it heads outdoors for a fall carnival.

The WPSU Fall Kids Carnival — known as Eventapalooza in past years — will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the WPSU Penn State studios, located at 100 Innovation Boulevard at Innovation Park. The free event will feature a meet-and-greet with PBS characters Daniel Tiger, Cat in the Hat and Peg+Cat.

Kids will also have the chance to climb inside a police car and construction vehicle, play family-friendly carnival games for prizes, and participate in science and educational activities and crafts. Visitors can make a PBS Kids button, pick a mini-pumpkin, view insects through a microscope, and have a rocket race.

The first 500 children ages 9 and younger will receive a treat bag that includes a free PBS Kids book, a Dairy Queen coupon and various WPSU and sponsor items. Families are encouraged to bring food donations that will be shared with area food banks. Cat food and canned dog food will also be accepted.

In case of inclement weather, the carnival will be moved indoors. For more information, visit wpsu.org/carnival.
