IST Alumni Identity Talks series, 'Military and Veterans in Tech,’ on Nov. 17

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Members of the Penn State community are invited to join the College of Information Sciences and Technology for IST Alumni Identity Talks – Military and Veterans in Tech, to be held virtually from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17. The event is co-sponsored by Penn State World Campus.

The virtual discussion includes panelists: 

  • Daniel Battisto, class of 2018, information security engineer, Workday Inc. 

  • 1st Lt. Juliana Wright Coleman, class of 2018, C-130J pilot, United States Air Force 

  • Michael Payne, class of 2020, data leakage prevention — U.S. team leader, UBS 

  • Lance Corporal Nhien Truong, class of 2021, U.S. Marine Corps reservist and IT security analyst, Underwriters labs 

In the IST Alumni Identity Talks series, alumni panelists share their diverse experiences and perspectives gained through their educational and professional journeys. Learn from the challenges and opportunities faced by these individuals from underrepresented backgrounds as they navigated the college experience and work to advance their careers and grow their professional networks. This event aims to inspire an open dialogue for students and alumni, and provide unique viewpoints to help all attendees be better prepared to thrive in diverse professional and personal communities.
