Explore rising technologies through hands-on MAKEiT Sept. 13

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Faculty and staff interested in exploring rising technologies through hands-on activities are invited to attend MAKEiT Sept. 13 at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub, 123 S. Burrowes St., State College. Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) is hosting the free event.

Attendees will select from six workshops developed around new creative technology concepts that can be applied in the classroom:

  • Aero Studios — Discover augmented reality, where technology adds a new layer of information to the world around us.
  • The Metaverse — Explore the concept of virtual worlds, create an avatar, navigate social experiences, and curate a virtual space.
  • 3D Alchemy — Use software to design a 3D object and interact with it through augmented reality.
  • Adobe Story Express — Build avatars and unique stories using "What The Deck," a virtual card game developed by TLT.
  • Virtual Reality — Break barriers and push boundaries through immersion into virtual spaces.
  • LEGO Spike Robotics — Engineer a robot and take on a challenging obstacle course.

MAKEiT registration is now open.
