UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s Teaching and Learning with Technology is offering the Faculty Tech Academy for faculty and staff to explore the current landscape of essential learning technologies available to them in the 2023-24 academic year.

The two-hour asynchronous course offered in the Learning Resource Network (LRN) features more than 170 technology resources grouped into eight modules with learning activities. Those taking the course can complete all modules to receive a certificate or pick and choose among the components of each module for help with specific areas of interest. They also can learn how to find experienced collaborators who can assist with implementing different learning technologies.

The Faculty Tech Academy follows the successful Student Tech Academy launched in 2020 for first-year students. Penn State instructional designers, IT specialists and librarians created the course to help faculty and staff implement learning technology that supports the whole student. It was piloted in spring 2023.

To launch the course, log into the LRN and search “Tech Academy” or follow this link to access the Tech Academy directly.
