UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — When Penn State pivoted to remote teaching and learning during the pandemic, the Tech Teaching Assistants (TA) program was rapidly launched to provide on-demand Zoom support to instructors. Tech TAs enabled faculty members to focus on course delivery without the extra burden of managing videoconferencing technology. Now that most classes have transitioned back to in-person instruction, the Tech TA program will pause for summer 2022. This pause includes support for one-time events as well as summer semester courses.
During the pause, IT Learning and Development (ITLD) will continue to focus resources on the Tech Tutors program. Tech Tutors can answer questions about such Penn State technology tools as Microsoft 365, Canvas, Zoom, Kaltura and Sites at Penn State. Tech Tutors are available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Friday. To join a Zoom meeting with a Tech Tutor during designated hours, visit techtutors.psu.edu and click the Online Tech Tutor button.
The Tech Tutors and Tech TA website will be updated with more information about the return of the Tech TA program in late summer. For questions about Tech Tutors, email techtutors@psu.edu.
ITLD supports the University’s mission by providing technology-tools training to the Penn State community. In addition to instructor-led sessions and a robust library of on-demand videos and documentation, ITLD also offers a variety of Zoom training resources to help those unfamiliar with hosting Zoom meetings and webinars.
