Owusu's selection in the 2024 WNBA draft marks the first Lady Lion to be drafted to the league in a decade, since Maggie Lucas' name was called in the 2014 draft. She becomes the 16th Penn State women's basketball player to earn a selection in the draft.

The graduate guard finished her fifth season totaling 1,726 points for a career average of 13.8 points per game. Her point total throughout her five season ranks her 10th all-time in the Lady Lions record book. Owusu has played in 125 games throughout her collegiate career including 20 with Penn State after returning to the court after being sidelined at the start of the season. During her 20 Penn State outtings, she posted double figure scoring in all but one appearance to lead the team on offense in her graduate season. Owusu surpassed 500 career assists and 500 career rebounds this season. She was named to second team All-Big Ten marking her fourth year earning conference postseason honors.

Owusu helped lead the Penn State women's basketball team to its first post season appearance since 2018, earning one of four number one seeds in the inaugural Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament. The Virginia native led the squad all the way to the Final Four Owusu totaling 68 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists throughout the tournament.

The veteran Lady Lion enjoyed a decorated career. Owusu took home the 2021 Ann Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award and was named to its watch list the two proceeding seasons. She earned All-Big Ten honors in her four seasons in the Big Ten including one first team nod and two second team selections. Owusu is also a two-time All-American after leading her team to two-straight Big Ten titles.
