Men's volleyball wins EIVA Tournament championship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — No. 3 Penn State men's volleyball is the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Tournament champion thanks to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-22) sweep over No. 15 Princeton on Saturday night at Rec Hall.

The Nittany Lions will head to the National Collegiate Championship Tournament in Fairfax, Virginia, as the conference's automatic qualifier.

Penn State improved to 26-3 on the season. The Lions won the EIVA Tournament for the 35th time since the inaugural event in 1971. Twenty-three of those titles have come in Mark Pavlik's 29 seasons as head coach.

Cal Fisher was named the MVP of the tournament. He was joined on the all-tournament team by teammates Brett WildmanCole Bogner, and Michal Kowal.

The tournament championship complements the team's regular season title, which Penn State clinched on April 8. The Nittany Lions have won three straight EIVA regular season titles.
