UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Rolling Lion food truck will be giving away free stickies and street tacos courtesy of Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 4. The truck will be parked behind Carnegie Building across from Willard Building on the University Park campus.

“We’ve had the pleasure of partnering with Startup Week over the past few years to use our residential dining areas to creatively increase awareness of this event for Penn State students,” said Jim Meineke, associate director of Residential Dining. “In the spirit of innovation, we’re excited to use the Rolling Lion food truck to give away free food to students and also test out some new products for our dining areas.”

During the giveaway, Penn State students are invited to try a handheld version of the famous Bryce Jordan Center lion paw stickies. Additionally, a new Korean beef street taco and Korean jackfruit street taco will give a sneak peek at next fall’s residential dining menu. Additionally, Pepsi will be providing three flavors of new Starbucks Baya drinks for students to sample with the sweet and salty offerings.

“Food brings people together, and when thinking about fun and creative ways to promote this student-focused, University-wide entrepreneurial event, a food truck takeover just made sense,” said Ashley Palmer, director of marketing and communications for the Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization, which oversees Startup Week. “Whether you’re interested in owning your own business, working for a startup, or just looking for out-of-the box professional pathways post-graduation, Startup Week has something to offer for all Penn State students.”

Startup Week is taking place across the University from April 4-8 with in-person, hybrid and virtual events. Students from all Penn State campuses will have opportunities to explore innovation and entrepreneurship, learn from passionate change-makers, and connect with industry leaders from diverse backgrounds.

In its sixth year as a University-wide event, Startup Week will feature keynote speakers and panels highlighting women trailblazers, innovation during the pandemic, and the economic impact of entrepreneurship within our communities, among other topics. Other events and activities include student pitch competitions, networking events, workshops, and startup and business career fairs, all of which provide opportunities for students to connect with Penn State alumni and industry leaders.
