Adam Yenser announced as Penn State Lehigh Valley 2017 commencement speaker

Emmy award-winning writer and 2005 alumnus will speak this year

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Comedian and Emmy-award winning writer for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, Adam Yenser, will be the featured speaker at Penn State Lehigh Valley’s 2017 commencement ceremony, to be held at 10:30 a.m. on May 6 at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.

Yenser, of Macungie, graduated from Emmaus High School. He then attended the Lehigh Valley campus before finishing his college education at University Park. He graduated from Penn State University in 2005 where he majored in film and video production and philosophy.

During his time at Penn State, Yenser interned for “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” which marked his entrance into the television industry. In addition to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Yenser has written for the Oscars and has been a freelance contributor to the “Weekend Update” skit on "Saturday Night Live." He began performing stand-up comedy at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York City. He has toured the country, appeared on “Conan,” and was named the Best New Political Comedian of 2015 at Politicon in Los Angeles. He can frequently be seen on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” as a correspondent and in the recurring hidden camera segment “Kevin the Cashier Played By Adam.”
