The Council for Retail and Sales (CRS) holds yearly collegiate case competitions. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the regularly scheduled regional collegiate case competition, powered by Clemens/Hatfield was postponed to the Fall 2020 semester.
In its place, the CRS is holding an online competition that focuses on how retailers can adapt to the economic landscape in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Each team is tasked to choose a type of small to mid-size enterprise such as a restaurant, gym, hardware store etc., and provide ideas on how the business can adapt and survive in this changing economy.
There will be two rounds. After the first round, the top eight teams will meet virtually with the judges for a question-and-answer session. Judges will consist of retail professionals from the region.
The top team will get $800 to be divided by team members. The second-place team will be awarded $300 to be divided by the team. The competition is judged on the written executive summary and the presentation.
The deadline to register is April 2. For more information, contact Elaine Thode, CRS Program Director, at ezt158@psu.edu.
