CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Penn State Lehigh Valley and Lehigh Valley LaunchBox will hold a virtual summer camp for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who want to think like an entrepreneur, or be their own boss one day.
“Teen Entrepreneur Challenge: Solutions for a Post-COVID World” will expose students to the issues we are facing as a nation, including public health concerns, and teach students how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to create business solutions to address these issues.
Experiences and outcomes include developing a profile that addresses an issue we will face as a nation in a post-COVID world; featured speakers from local businesses and virtual “field trips”; real-world case studies and problem-solving activities; exploring ideas on sustainability, improving existing processes, and sustainability; exploring STEAM educational programming; and developing new technology skills.
The program culminates with a pitch competition, including prizes. This year’s camp is sponsored by Victaulic and Bosch Community Fund.
The program cost is $350 per student and registration is now open. The deadline to register is June 18. Dates for the camp are July 6-16, starting at 10 a.m. each day. Formal instruction will take place Tuesday through Friday for approximately 3 hours per day.
