CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Penn State Lehigh Valley will celebrate its Class of 2020 with a Virtual Senior Celebration on May 9.
This is the same day commencement was to be held at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem before the global pandemic caused a change in plans. Penn State will recognize the class of 2020 with a University-wide virtual commencement ceremony that will be streamed across the Commonwealth on May 9. In addition to that celebration, Penn State Lehigh Valley will honor seniors from the campus with a digital program book and social media celebration.
The University is committed to providing opportunities to invite the Class of 2020 back for in-person celebrations when public health guidelines allow.
“May 9 will be a landmark day for our seniors to share the joy of their accomplishments with the campus community as well as their family and friends. While the global pandemic has made us pivot, we still want to acknowledge students in special ways through a Virtual Senior Celebration!” said Tina Q. Richardson, chancellor, Penn State Lehigh Valley. “I can’t wait to see the submissions and get to celebrate each and every graduating senior virtually until we can be together in person again.”
