The Gender Equity Center and the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Penn State will co-sponsor a screening of "The Janes," a 2022 documentary about a group of seven women in the South Side of Chicago who were arrested in 1972 after building an underground network that offered safe, affordable — and at the time, illegal — abortions.

The screening will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the HUB's Flex Theater, with a panel discussion to follow.
