Congratulations to the February You Rock winner

Marc Kepler, a technology consultant in Information Technology, was selected as the You Rock Award recipient for February because “not only was he extremely knowledgeable, he provided outstanding customer service while supporting staff … He was always responsive to questions that we had and spent valuable time troubleshooting with us.” The entire Staff Advisory Committee congratulates Marc and the work that he does to help the college run more smoothly. Best practices for working with international students

In this workshop for staff and faculty the English for Professional Purposes Intercultural Center (EPPIC) will present practical strategies for teaching and supporting multilingual international students. The workshop will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.on March 22 in 177 Henderson Building. To register, please visit eppic.la.psu.edu.

Recycling and Composting Roadshow

What type of plastic can go in the bin? What about yogurt cups? Can you compost a sandwich wrapper? What about the lid and sleeve on a coffee cup? It's confusing and the Sustainability Institute will be in Sparks Building to help at 2:30 p.m. on March 29. Click here to RSVP.

Dialogue in Trump’s America

David Holloway and Laurie Mulvey will co-present a workshop from noon to 1 p.m. on April 3 in Foster Auditorium for all faculty and staff. The purpose of the event is to demonstrate the methodology and efficacy of facilitated dialogue between groups in conflict. For more information, please visit the college events calendar.

Sustainability in the College of the Liberal Arts

The Liberal Arts Green Steering Committee is hosting an event from 11 a.m. to noon on April 18 in 124 Sparks Building. The event, which is part of Earth Week, will give staff a chance to listen to liberal arts faculty and graduate students and Sustainability Institute staff. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.

We’re also looking for information about each department, so feel free to submit interesting things about your department that makes it unique within the University.
