Regina Vasilatos-Younken, vice provost for graduate education and dean of the Graduate School, emphasized Hall’s achievements and professionalism.
“Dr. Hall is a role model for graduate students, particularly those pursuing advanced degrees in science disciplines,” Vasilatos-Younken said. “It is becoming a compelling need in the STEM fields to communicate and prepare our graduate students for career opportunities outside the academy, and alumni of Dr. Hall’s stature, success, and career pathway are an exemplar to that end, as well as an inspiration to alumni who seek volunteer leadership opportunities within Penn State’s global alumni network.”
Hall is also a member of the College of Medicine Alumni Society Board of Directors.
“Dr. Hall has been a shining example to our graduate students over the years, participating actively as a member of the Alumni Society Board and giving freely of his time to meet and mentor our students,” said Charles Lang, associate dean for graduate studies, Penn State College of Medicine. “His commitment to our students is unparalleled and greatly appreciated by all.”
Hall is one of three graduate alumni selected as recipients of the 2017 Alumni Achievement Award. The others are Mark Franklin Patishnock '05, '12g and John C. Urschel '12, '13g.
