HERSHEY, Pa. — On Wednesday, July 3, Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the Hershey Symphony Orchestra will present “An American Salute,” the annual Independence Day celebration on the front lawn of the Medical Center. The community is invited to this free concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. The rain date is Thursday, July 4.
Admission and parking are free, and complimentary water and ice cream will be provided by the medical center.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase starting at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to sit on during the concert. Open flames (i.e., candles) are prohibited. No pets are allowed, but service animals are permitted.
The first half of the concert will feature songs from the stage and screen, including "Back to the Future," James Bond movies, "Pirates of the Caribbean," and songs from the Broadway musical “Chicago.” During the second half of the concert, the orchestra will present “A Salute to America,” accompanied by Hershey Symphony Orchestra vocalists. These selections will celebrate America and provide a special tribute to the U.S. military.
