The Web Oversight Group for Penn State Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine has been working to update the organization's top-level external Web sites for the last several months. The project team has been collecting feedback using online surveys and user group forums with patients, employees, faculty and students about the Web design, information available and its ease of use.
On Thursday, May 15, the new Web site design for Penn State Hershey will be available for all visitors at www.pennstatehershey.org, highlighting its missions of patient care, education, research and community service. It provides easy access to more helpful content, including the new Health Information Library and an improved search tool.
As a result of much hard work by the team and clinical department representatives, Bone and Joint Institute, Breast Center, Clinical Neuroscience Institute, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Radiology, Spine Center and Therapy Services, each have improved Web sites using the new design. The Web improvement team is currently working with the Phase Two departments and planning future phases.
The current emphasis of the project is updating external-facing Web sites and top-level pages. The Medical Center and College of Medicine's internal Web structure and service-level department sites will remain unchanged until migration of external sites is complete. Existing Web sites and URLs not yet converted to the new design will continue to function as they do now.
The Web Oversight Group expressed its appreciation to all those involved in this project for their time and commitment in providing them with valuable insight and feedback.
