HERSHEY, Pa. — Volunteers are needed for Kiss Hershey Back, a township-wide cleanup on Saturday, May 7, that is led by a group of Penn State College of Medicine students to make the Sweetest Place on Earth also the cleanest place on earth. The day begins at 9 a.m. at the University Conference Center tent on the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center campus, and clean up and planting will take place until noon at various Hershey locations. A free lunch and activities will be provided at the tent following the cleanup.Kiss Hershey Back was started seven years ago by five first-year medical students who wanted to give back to the community. The event is supported by the Derry Township Board of Supervisors and Department of Public Works, along with local school districts, community organizations and businesses. Hundreds of community members volunteer each year to pick up litter and plant trees and flowers in Derry Township’s parks, near its greenways and along its rural roads.Visit kisshersheyback.blogspot.com for more information and to register.
